Bachelor of Science in Health Informatics and Information Management

The baccalaureate degree curriculum emphasizes the development of skills for the management of health-related information and the systems used to collect, store, retrieve, disseminate, and communicate information for the support of enterprise operations and clinical and business decision making in health care or related organizations. The Health Informatics and Information Management (HIIM) program received the Louisiana State Board of Regents' Commendation of Excellence, the highest recognition awarded to an academic program by this group. The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education. Graduates of the program are eligible to apply to write the registration examination of the American Health Information Management Association.
