Our department trains well-equipped professional staff with the knowledge, attitudes and skills required by the Radio, Television and Cinema (RTC) fields. In order to be able to do any profession, it is necessary to be competent in three subjects: General culture, field knowledge of the profession and application skills... If you examine the curriculum on our website; You can easily see that there are courses that will bring these three dimensions of the radio, television and cinema professions.
Our Teaching Facilities
We have experienced teaching staff to train our students; we have laboratories and studios where they can practice. Our faculty; has a TV studio with three-cameras, radio and photography studio, editing sets and computer labs. All of the vocational courses are held in these studios and laboratories.
Starting in the spring semester of freshman year, RTC students start making TV shows and videos; In the following years, documentaries, clips, fictional film shoots and radio programs are added to these. Selected from the programs prepared by our students; We publish it on the "tv.yeniyuzyil.edu.tr" and "radio.yeniyuzyil.edu.tr" links on our university's website; moreover, we publish it with the names of the students themselves…
Working Areas of GraduatesGraduates of the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema have the opportunity to work in all private and public workplaces that use audio-visual media. Radio, Television and Cinema; They are production sectors that are used in all areas of life from entertainment to communication, promotion, information and education, marketing and travel, and are applied to change and transform these areas. Everyone knows that graduates of the RTC Department work intensively in professions such as producer, director, cameraman, light maker, sound operator, editor, etc. Beyond these; Look at the Internet, your mobile phones, subways and trams, television monitors in banks or hospitals… we are surrounded by images. Here, the RTC Department trains staff who can prepare the videos shown on these screens, which I count as an example.
The increasing use of audio-visual technologies means new job opportunities for the RTC graduates. We now live in a visual world. This world, known as the internet in general and social media in particular; has expanded traditional working areas of the Radio, Television and Cinema (RTC) departments to the promotion, marketing, purchasing, banking, access to information, sharing of information and facts through social media. Knowledge and skills of students in preparing documentaries, commercials, films, fiction or clips; are now also used for short audio and video programs to be prepared for social media.
Features of the Department
• The education language of the RTC Department is Turkish. However, students who wish can take a one-year English preparatory education. Moreover; As can be seen in the curriculum, we have English classes in every semester of the four years.
• Department students were given the opportunity to choose courses in the last two years. They have the right to choose two courses each semester. The aim is for our students to develop themselves further in their field of interest.
• There is an internship obligation in our department. During the summer break of the third year; It is ensured that they practice 30 working days in a workplace related to their profession and acquire work discipline.
• So that our students can learn by doing and living; Practical lessons are given in television studio, radio studio, photography studio and computer labs.
• In case they fulfill the necessary conditions and request; Our students have the opportunity to do a minor or double major.
