The university uses the Common App for its applications, and undergraduate applicants must provide an official secondary school transcript, mark sheets and national exam scores (if applicable). They must also provide two letters of recommendation, SAT or ACT score reports (SAT code 2084, ACT code 2698) and TOELF or IELTS scores to show English proficiency if necessary. The priority deadline for international applicants is January 15th, after which applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. All admitted applicants are considered for merit funding, which ranges from $5,000 to $30,000 per year. Clarkson also participates in the #YouAreWelcomeHere scholarship program, which will has a deadline of January 15th.

Typically applicants must submit an application form, transcripts from all post-secondary education, including courses and grades, two-three letters of recommendation, an essay or statement of purposes, and a resume. Business programs will require GMAT scores, while most other courses will require GRE scores. Engineering programs based at the university’s Capital Region Campus don’t require GRE or GMAT testing. TOEFL or IELTS scores may be required to show English proficiency.

Tuition fees for international students at the postgraduate level vary depending on the program, ranging from $961 to $1,606 per credit. All admitted applicants are considered for financial assistance. For master’s students, funding is usually in the form of a partial-tuition scholarship or assistantship. Some admitted PhD applicants are offered full funding, based on the teaching and research needs of the student’s department. Only merit-based aid is available.
