The Department boasts of many renowned scholars and famous playwrights and writers among its alumni, such as XIAO Fuxing, LU Xing’er, ZHU Xiaoping, XIE Lihong, HUANG Weiruo, FAN Yuan, SHI Hang. Their works have gained many prestigious awards and prizes, and made great contributions to the development and prosperity of the theatre industry in China.
The Department of Dramatic Literature provides programs in screen writing, theatre studies and theatre criticism.
Besides its B. A. programs, the Department also provides programs at M. A. level on theatre studies, theatre aesthetics, playwriting and playwriting theory, Western theatre, Chinese Spoken Drama, the history of Chinese traditional Xiqu. The programs at PhD.
