The Department of Theatre Management is an important training base for senior theatre managers and producers in China. The Department keeps pace with the latest development in international theatre management and connects closely with theatre practice, setting up a centre for theatre production, training and research.
The Department of Theatre Management was one of the earliest training programs for theatre management in China. Since it was set up in 2001, the Department has trained a considerable number of competent theatre managers and producers for China.
The Department of Theatre Management provides programs both at B. A. level and M. A. level. The syllabus is as below:
Theatre Planning and Producing, Development Planning of Theatre Companies, Management and Operation of Theatre Companies, Case studies, A general Introduction to Theatre Producing, Theatre Management, Foundation of Acting, Foundation of Directing, History of Chinese Stage Performance, History of Western Stage Performance etc.
The Department of Theatre Management boasts a strong faculty team, of which professors and associate-professors make up more than half. This is a dynamic team, with a rigorous spirit of research and rich experience in teaching.
The Department of Theatre Management pays much attention to its curriculum construction. It also pays attention to conducting research on future needs so as to improve its training programs according to changes in the demands of society.
