The Erasmus Mundus International Master in Quantum Technologies and Engineering (QuanTEEM) offers you a unique international educational experience with a focused curriculum on quantum technologies, by bringing together the expertise of research groups at three renowned EU universities. The backbone of the programme is a multi-disciplinary approach in physics, materials (including nanostructures), and computer science, which will make you a skilled expert and quantum engineer. With this multi-disciplinary approach, you will address aspects and challenges such as energy, materials, health, security, and the environment.
STUDY AT LEADING INSTITUTIONS The programme has been granted EU’s prestigious Erasmus Mundus label and provides students with the chance to study in 3 different countries. It is offered jointly by Université Bourgogne Franche-Comté (UBFC), Technische Universität Kaiserslautern (TUK), and Aarhus University (AU). All students spend their first semester at Université Bourgogne Franche-Comté (UBFC). In the second semester, you choose one of two proposed tracks: • Photonics at Université Bourgogne Franche-Comté (UBFC), France • Many-Body Quantum Physics at Technische Universität Kaiserslautern (TUK), Germany In the third semester, you select one of the following proposed tracks: • Integrated Quantum Optics at Technische Universität Kaiserslautern (TUK), Germany • Platforms for Quantum Technologies at Aarhus University (AU), Denmark During the fourth semester, you perform your master’s thesis research at any of the three institutions or any of the QuanTEEM-associated partners. PROGRAMME STRUCTURE This 2-year programme contains 120 ECTS credit units and leads to a Master of Science (MSc) in Quantum Technologies and Engineering (QuanTEEM) which is jointly awarded by the universities attended by the individual student. The curriculum is tailored to comprise all the aspects of quantum technologies with a spectrum of courses based on the established pillars: · Quantum computation · Quantum communication · Quantum sensing and imaging · Quantum simulation and multidisciplinary applications The programme offers a choice of specialisations that define different possible mobility tracks.

In the 2015 edition of the QS World University Rankings by Subject, Aarhus University was ranked 23rd for dentistry and 60th for life sciences and medicine. Aarhus University’s School of Business and Social Sciences (BSS) is accredited by AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS, making it a triple crown accredited business school.

All of the professors at Aarhus University are active researchers. As a result, all of the university’s programs are reviewed on a regular basis in order to ensure that they meet the highest national and world standards.

Over half of Aarhus University’s 40,000 students study at the Master’s or PhD level. Over ten percent of the student body is international, representing 100 different nationalities. Aarhus’ international students have access to an International Centre which offers an orientation programme as well as support and guidance during their time at the university. Danes were recently ranked as the best non-native English speakers in the world, so it is easy for international students to get along in Denmark even if they don’t speak Danish.

All international Masters students and graduates are given access to career counselling services and a free job bank. The green card residence permit which allows students to complete a higher education programme in Denmark allows students to stay in Denmark for six months after graduation so they have time to look for work.
