The Graduate School at Miami University serves a community of scholars immersed in the heart of the Miami experience: interdisciplinary research and collaborative inquiry. Representing a full selection of master’s, doctoral, and certificate programs spanning a wide range of disciplines, the school acts as a platform for discovery, innovation, and teamwork — all of which support the university’s mission to cultivate an environment where imagination and difference are appreciated and respected.
Founded on the belief that research, scholarship, and creative endeavors lead to a better understanding of both the world and the human condition, Miami’s graduate-level activities are primary drivers for the creation of new knowledge, solving complicated problems, and providing beauty and entertainment.
Beyond the classroom, life at Miami is vibrant, eclectic, and nonstop — there are endless opportunities to get involved and find your community, no matter your interests. The university even offers four graduate-specific groups for those looking to further broaden their educational experience: the Graduate Student Association, the Graduate Students of Color Association, the Graduate Student Pride Association, and the International Graduate Student Association.
Since most graduate students live off-campus in historic Oxford, Ohio , the university provides Off-Campus Outreach to help you make informed decisions about where and with whom to live, to help you understand your rights and responsibilities as a tenant and citizen, and to help promote a positive relationship with the local community.
