This degree consists heavily of a practical internship carried out in the Sant’Andrea Hospital. A total of 1800 working hours are required for graduation from the course. Students will begin internship in the Spring of the 1st year and will be expected to perform the practical responsibilities of a nurse including preparation and administration of medications, bed making, patient hygiene, venous access, catheterizations, etc. The intership is carried out in English for the beginning of the first year however the student is expected to be actively learning Italian to continue the internship.
