General information

Are you ready for an international career in business and IT? In this programme, you will focus on the management of information as a strategic source for improving overall business performance, and become a professional who can combine analytical know-how with business knowledge. You’ll develop both the management foundation and the technical foundation of business information management.

The Business Information Management master has a multidisciplinary approach with a broad background. You will:

  1. Investigate the business side of information management for unlocking IT innovations and understand their strategic value.
  2. Be trained to harvest, process and analyse data and technology to identify business opportunities.
  3. Investigate next-generation business models so you can make well-founded decisions to develop them.
  4. Learn how to apply findings and translate them into actionable decisions.

You’ll be exposed to current business information management challenges, research, technologies and developments through real-life cases. In BIM’s core courses, you will investigate information systems, methods and data in business. You then choose an elective track – the Data Science track or the Digital Business track – so you can specialise and differentiate yourself in the competitive job market, for example as data scientist, data analyst, or consultant in digital business and IT. You can also combine electives and create your own track.

Highlights

  • The course portfolio is updated every year, to reflect the digital transformation and the changing management and IT landscape.
  • Direct connection to the job market though guest lectures, company projects and networking events with business and data professionals.
  • Top-ranked international instructors who can explain theory and concepts in a clear and engaging way.
  • On-campus: guest lectures by key people from the industry, interactive learning, and study clubs.
  • Off-campus: international study trips, company in-house days, and internship opportunities.

Is it right for me?

You’re keen to explore new technologies that shape the way businesses work. You have high analytical skills, love cracking codes, and want to apply and create innovative information technologies. For this programme, you don’t need a technical or computer programming background as long as you are a recent bachelor graduate in economics, business or information management, and interested in diving into digital strategy and business. You also need to be team-oriented, motivated, critical, hard-working and pro-active, and keen to become an expert in both business and IT so you can find a job as a consultant, strategist, data analyst or even start your own business.
