UIndy’s health and physical education (HPE) program prepares students for teaching health and physical education in the K–12 school system. You’ll begin working with students in the classroom from your very first semester of education coursework, developing teaching strategies in motor learning, communication, assessment, collaboration and use of technology. To be eligible for an all-grade teaching license, you must take 61.5 credit hours in health and physical education in addition to the general courses for all-grade education majors, offered through the Department of Teacher Education. You can complete the program in four years.
