Service learning opportunities are available including activities working with children in physical activity settings and supporting local health-related organizations. In addition, numerous opportunities exist in Terre Haute and surrounding communities for students to volunteer with children and adults as coaches, instructors, and mentors. These include the Boys and Girls Club, community centers, sports centers, the Family Y, and the school corporation after-school programs. Careers Graduates of the Physical Education Teaching Program are qualified to take the state licensing exam for teaching physical education in preschool through grade 12. Our alumni have made (and continue to make) significant contributions in the areas of teaching, exercise science/fitness, and coaching.
