We offer an excellent selection of high quality modules in each of our degrees.  We also offer choice between the degrees which means you can dip in and out of your chosen degree and sample other topics which might be of interest. In your first year you will study modules such as: What is the Good Life?, Faith and Reason, What is Religion?, The Problem of Human Nature, Law and Society, Religion, Ethics and Violence, Do the Right Things, and Sacred and Secular Scriptures in Western Culture. In your second year you will study modules such as: Islamic Identities, Witchcraft and Magic, Reading Religious Texts, Philosophy and Theory of Religion, Work Placement, Saints and Sinners, and Bio-Ethics. In your third year you will study modules such as: Dissertation (a major research project in an area of your choice), Revisioning Religion, Gender and Sexuality, Political Theology, A Cultural History of Death, The Ethics of Reading and Dictatorship, Conformity and Resistance.

We accept a wide range of internationally recognised qualifications. As a general guide, most of our undergraduate programmes accept one of the following.

  • A recognised and relevant foundation/Access course (minimum pass mark for a UK-based foundation programme is usually 55%)
  • High School Diploma (to age 18) where it is deemed equivalent to A Levels (3 A Level passes at BCC/CCC)
  • An International Baccalaureate (28 points)
  • EDEXCEL BTEC National Diploma (MMM-DMM)

As a general guide, for postgraduate study you'll need to hold the equivalent of a good honours degree (a 2:1 or 2:2 depending on the course) from a recognised university.

We also accept applications from students who have completed a 'top-up' degree at a UK university. If you hold a UK degree you don't need to provide an IELTS or other English language test certificate.
