Like F100, this programme offers a solid grounding in chemistry with the added bonus of a year’s paid work experience in an industrial setting. During this time, you work as part of a team on a cutting-edge project and write a report on the work you have carried out. All our programmes have a common Chemistry core in the first two years, differing only in optional modules, which can be chosen from chemistry or non-chemistry courses. This provides a good measure of flexibility and choice for you during the first two years. The first two years of this programme are identical to the BSc Chemistry (F100) programme. If you decide you want to aim for a research career, you can transfer to the MChem programme in Year Two provided you are achieving an average mark at the 2:1 level or above (60%). If you decide not to take up an industrial placement, you can transfer either to the BSc Chemistry (F100) programme or the MChem Chemistry (F102) programme in Year Two.
