On March 4, the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2020 will be released. Covering 48 different academic subjects, across five broad subject areas, these rankings are the world’s most comprehensive exploration of which degree programs you should be prioritizing when applying to university.
This year’s ranking will feature 13,138 individual university programs from 1,368 universities around the world. You’ll have to wait a couple more weeks to find out which universities have performed the best, but check out last year’s QS World University Rankings by Subject in the meantime.
Here are some of the key questions you can expect to be answered in this year’s ranking:
Every year since 2011, the QS World University Rankings by Subject have been compiled using data on research citations, combined with the results of major global surveys of academics and employers. More information about the methodology can be found here.

Rankings can also be accessed by downloading the free QS World University Rankings app, available for iPhone and Android.
