The Master of Marriage and Family Therapy (MMFT) program is well established having graduated its first students in 1992. The strength of the MMFT is its clinical focus. The core of the program is the 500 hours of therapy under supervision that each student completes primarily at Aurora Family Therapy Centre located on The University of Winnipeg campus. Another reflection of the clinical focus is that all Faculty members are themselves practicing therapists, and all Supervisors are Approved by or Supervisors-in-Training with the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.  The program is structured to meet the needs of the part‑time student; this fits for those already working in the field who wish to develop a specialty in marriage and family therapy, and for those who are just beginning their career and need time and life experience to develop as a therapist.
