The Master of Education is designed to meet the needs of experienced educators seeking professional learning, personal and professional enquiry and intellectual engagement within a specialist area or across a range of specialisations.
This Master of Education (by Coursework) is based on principles of active learning and practice-oriented enquiry, informed by professional standards, contemporary theoretical perspectives, and research in teaching and learning.
The course aims to be relevant and responsive to the needs of people in a range of education-related roles. You'll work in creative and collegial ways and communicate effectively as specialists to initiate and evaluate change in and beyond your immediate spheres of influence. By the end of the Master of Education, you will have specialist knowledge about professional practice and advanced knowledge of independent project design and methods. You'll be able to investigate and evaluate practice, and design and implement independent research in diverse educational contexts to lead change.
You'll develop skills of educational research and inquiry in the design and implementation of a significant research project that addresses issues related to your professional context, building on the substantial course work undertaken prior to the development of the dissertation component of this course.
We also offer Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma options. These can be found under the ‘Articulation’ heading on the course page.
