In the 2022/2023 academic year a new Doctoral Programme in Educational Sciences was opened for admission in the Faculty of Social Sciences. The programme offers two specialties to choose from:


  • education science
  • science education

The specialty of educational science (coordinated by the Institute of Educational Sciences) allows you to deal with a wide variety of education-related topics during your doctoral thesis. For example, it is possible to devote yourself to research in the fields of elementary and primary education, special pedagogy and speech therapy, educational technology and teacher education.


The specialty of science education (coordinated by the Institute of Ecology and Earth Sciences) enables you to deal with problems related to science education both locally and internationally, starting with subject didactics, evaluation and ending with scientific philosophical approaches. The subject of research can be both students and teachers, the topic extends to interdisciplinary areas.
