Our MMath Mathematics course provides excellent training for a professional mathematical career or postgraduate research career. The first and second years of the four-year course are common with the BSc Mathematics programme, while the final two years allow you to study a broad range of advanced mathematical topics in depth. In the final two years, specialist MMath modules are combined with BSc modules in a variety of mathematical areas such as algebra, analysis, dynamics, mechanics, topology and statistics. In the final year, you will undertake a major project on your chosen topic, giving you the opportunity to demonstrate and extend your skills in a selected area. You can choose the G104 programme (which has a four-year duration) or the G103 programme (which includes a Professional Training placement year between the second and third academic years, and therefore has a five-year duration).
