Plant
pathology basically deals with the plant diseases and physiological disorders
incited by fungi, bacteria, viruses, nematodes, and mollicutes and also deals
with study of edible fungi called mushrooms. Plant diseases had proved
serious threat to agricultural economy since ever it was started. Efficient
management of the disease ensures the future food security and economical
growth of the agriculture sector. In Plant Pathology the students get
familiar with the diseases of field crops, vegetables, orchards, ornaments
and their control. Biological control got focus in current days and providing
the food free of hazardous chemicals toxins which affecting our health
quality. We are teaching comprehensively on plant prokaryotes, plant viruses,
57 fungi, mollicutes, plant pathogenic nematodes, seed pathology, forest
pathology and molecular plant pathology. Mycorrhizal fungi got attention of
mycologists as source to increase soil fertility in natural conditions and
organic agricultural production. Beneficial microorganisms are important key
factors for increase of soil fertility and biological control of plant
pathogen. Our future will be on the efficient and eco friendly control of the
diseases targeting the crops and orchards in temperate areas of Azad Kashmir.

students facing financial hardship and economic vulnerability. Students are
offered free transportation and free indoor medical services to reduce
socioeconomic inequalities to ensure that they complete their university
education without any constraints. During the financial year (2021), UPR
offered financial assistance to PKRs.142.40 million to 37.05 % coverage of the total
university intake. There are many designated scholarships for needy students,
i.e., Ehsaas Scholarships, HEC Need Based, the Punjab Educational Endowment
fund (PEEF) Scholarships, HBL Platinum Scholarships, and Sudhan Education
Scholarships. The university awards its scholarships to bottom-household income
students under these schemes.

undergraduate education through innovation and expansion of research by
