The M.S. in Financial Engineering degree program is jointly sponsored by the Department of Industrial and Enterprise Systems Engineering in The Grainger College of Engineering and the Department of Finance in the Gies College of Business. The program can be completed in 18 months, and begins in August each year. The second and subsequent semesters allow students the flexibility to pursue specialized tracks within the program, such as data analytics in finance, advanced analytics in ISE and automated tradingpractices. A corporate-sponsored practicum provides students opportunities to address real world financial modeling problems and provides access to state-of-the-art analytic tools and software products.

You must have been awarded (or are about to be awarded) a four-year bachelor's degree equivalent to that granted by the University of Illinois to be eligible for graduate programs at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. If your undergraduate degree is a three-year program, you are not eligible for graduate-level admissions consideration at the University of Illinois.
