In explaining physiological mechanisms operating in pathological processes, however, pathophysiology can be regarded as basic science.

Usual postgraduate entry requirements for a master’s include a four-year honors degree or any international equivalent from a recognised university, with a minimum score of B- over the last two years of study. At PhD-level, you would also need a master’s degree with a minimum score of B overall as well as evidence that you have strong potential for research.
 
Average tuition fees range between CAD$20,500-28,50 (US$16,900 and US$23,000) per year, although special funding is available to students. All doctoral students receive a minimum stipend of at least US$14,400 for the first three years of study.

Typically, in postgraduate research programs, you need to find a faculty member to conduct research under; otherwise, your research in your selected program won't be approved - especially for funding.
