FAQs

Our program provides you with two tracks to earn your degree: standard and accelerated. In the standard track, you will begin your courses in the fall, continue through the winter and spring, and then complete a summer internship, followed by a final set of fall electives. In the accelerated track, you can begin your experience with a summer internship, followed by three quarters of core courses and electives. If you already possess a strong background in finance, the accelerated track of the program allows you to bypass foundational courses and jump straight into advanced electives, enabling you to delve deeper into specialized areas and tailor your academic experience to align with your skills, experience, and career goals.
Chicago Booth is home to one of the world’s most highly regarded MBA programs, with a reputation for a transformative, analytical, multidisciplinary MBA curriculum. There are key differences between our Master in Finance Program and our MBA Programs as an option for those who want to pursue a career in finance. Our MiF Program is for recent college graduates in quantitative fields of study with limited work experience—curious and highly analytical thinkers who are passionate about finance and searching for a master’s degree that is challenging and transformative. Our MBA Programs provide students with a rigorous business education rooted in the fundamentals of business (accounting, economics, psychology, sociology, and statistics), preparing them for a wide range of careers both inside and outside of finance.
Our Master in Management Program, which is also for recent college graduates, is for liberal arts and STEM majors who are looking for the broad business skills necessary to begin a career in business with confidence. With our Finance specialization in the MiM Program, students take a total of four finance courses. Key differences exist between our Master in Finance Program and the Finance specialization in our Master in Management Program. With our Master in Finance Program, accomplished recent college graduates in quantitative fields of study can build on their analytical aptitude and dive deep studying cutting-edge finance topics, taking a total of 13 courses.
We estimate tuition to be between $113,000 to $115,000 for the standard track (15 months with internship) and between $85,000 to $87,000 for the accelerated track (10 months).
