The training in notarial law offered at UdeS favors teaching methods aimed at achieving the key competencies required for the practice of the profession. It focuses on active and concrete learning. Focused primarily on practice, it also promotes teamwork, communication, trust and autonomy. Teaching is offered to small groups of up to 45 students. This approach fosters interaction between faculty, professional staff and students, and creates a spirit of mutual support that is conducive to learning the profession of notary. Thus, our students participate actively in their training. The notarial profession has expanded considerably in the last decade. Notaries have many more responsibilities and powers than before. New areas of practice have opened up to them, with the result that several notaries are developing specialized expertise, such as intellectual property, tax law, business law or dispute prevention and resolution.
