The Medical Study Program is an undergraduate academic education stage which is equivalent to KKNI level 6. Graduates of the Medical Study Program are entitled to a Bachelor of Medicine (S.Ked.) degree. The curriculum used in the Medical Study Program is the Higher Education Curriculum (KPT) which refers to the Indonesian Doctor Competency Standards (SKDI), the National Higher Education Standards (SNPT) and KKNI (Indonesian National Qualifications Framework) level 6 which aims to produce graduates of Bachelor of Medicine who behave noble, mastering the concept of medical knowledge, research, and basic clinical skills as a foundation in further education, and able to conduct self-evaluation and development by utilizing science and technology.
The Higher Education curriculum is implemented by prioritizing Student Centered Learning ( SCL ) through the "Cooperative", "Collaborative Learning System" and "Problem Based Learning" learning methods which are more directing students to active learning . SCL aims to prepare graduates who are able to apply the principles of life long learning by learning skills that can be used for self-direction (independent).
The higher education curriculum of FK Trisakti is implemented using the SPICES learning strategy ( Student centered, Problem Based Learning (PBL), Integrated, Community based learning, Elective or Early Clinically Exposure, and Systematic learning ). The curriculum is designed in such a way that it is expected that the learning carried out is student centered . Students are seen as adults so they need to be involved in determining their own learning goals. Lecturers/educators are tasked with facilitating the learning process. The process of determining the learning objectives itself is mainly trained in the tutorial discussion process. Students are triggered by a clinical case ( early clinical exposure ).) and asked to define the problems found and determine what they will study. This learning is in accordance with PBL. The curriculum design is made in an integrated manner , so it is not only based on one field of science, but each problem is viewed comprehensively from various fields of science ( integrated ). The complexity of the problems faced by students is made to increase gradually and uninterruptedly from one stage to the next, so that a spiral in learning will appear. Students are trained from the most basic to the most complex level ( systematic .).). Recognizing the gap between theory and practice in the field, the curriculum at Trisakti FK is designed to bridge this gap by exposing students in the community ( community based learning ).
The curriculum material for the Medical Study Program is given in units called modules which are the integration of biomedical science*, basic clinical science*, clinical science*, community medicine* and supporting sciences* which are given in stages over seven semesters. Each module has a predetermined credit weight so that overall, students are said to have passed the Sked after completing 150 credits.
The learning process in each module is carried out in various ways to accommodate student needs, including face-to-face activities (interactive lectures), tutorial group discussions, plenary, practicum, and basic clinical skills training.
