The Bachelor of Science (Geographic Information Science) degree provides students with cutting-edge knowledge, skills, and abilities in using geospatial sciences, and this includes geographical information systems (GIS), remote sensing, locational analysis, and geographic visualization. It focuses on the theoretical foundations of geographical information science, the development and use of state-of-the-art software and emerging technology, and the collection, processing, and interpretation of geospatial information. As the use of geospatial technology and GIS in society is widespread, demand for these skills in public and private sectors remains high and continues to grow, offering students diverse career opportunities. You will learn insights and skills in the art and process of the dynamic social systems and issues related to each other and societal issues. Department of Sociology in UB is a member of the American Sociological Society and the undergraduate Sociology program was founded in 1920. Sociology is a study of all people, for all people. Sociology is the broadest of the social sciences and can give us an understanding of the social world. This program provides students with the technical and analytic tools, critical thinking skills, and global perspective needed to navigate the 21st century successfully and succeed in many careers.

SIM offers over 80 undergraduate courses in the areas of Arts and Social Sciences, Accounting, Banking and Finance, Business & Management, and Information Technology (including Data Science, Cyber Security, Game Development, and Digital System Security).

The usual entry requirements for undergraduate programmes are ‘A’ level, IB Diploma, or Year 12 of Senior High School.  Applicants must also show proof of English proficiency. 


The average tuition fees range from S$10,000 – S$23,000 per annum.  The fee is dependent on the course and university awarding the qualification.

All undergraduate students at SIM pay full tuition fees. However, applicants with exemplary academic results may apply for the SIM Global Education Scholarship.

There are 35 postgraduate courses offered ranging from postgraduate certificate to master’s degrees covering:

The usual entry requirements include a bachelor’s degree (second class upper, or B average). Applicants will be required to submit proof of English proficiency or attend an interview with the programme director.

The average tuition fees range from S$28,000 to S$36,000 for a one-year and two-year postgraduate courses respectively.

All postgraduate students at SIM pay the full tuition fees.
