Samarkand State Institute of Foreign Languages was established on November 8, 1994, by the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Over time, the Institute has evolved into a distinguished international hub offering higher and secondary specialized education, public education, and a robust infrastructure for tourism. It aims to cultivate highly proficient specialists in foreign philology, translation, and interpretation.
Our nation is witnessing the emergence of a new generation deeply committed to upholding national honor, acknowledging their role in shaping the fate of the people and the homeland. This generation embraces both the cultural heritage of their forebears and universal values. The future of Uzbekistan hinges on the proficiency of these skilled professionals, making the nurturing of well-educated youth a top priority in our state policy.
Presently, the Institute houses nine faculties, 26 departments, four language and cultural centers, a regional language training center, a Center of Educational Quality and Innovation, and a resource center furnished with state-of-the-art educational and multimedia facilities.
The Institute offers 19 bachelor's degree programs, 16 master's degree specializations, and nine doctoral studies. Moreover, it provides modern accommodation for over 3000+ students in a well-equipped dormitory, along with a 1000+ seat dining facility.
