University information
All of our undergraduate programmes are offered on a four year pathway, based on the US educational approach and liberal arts tradition, making Richmond the only UK university where all undergraduate degrees can be studied within this framework. We welcome applications from students who have completed university-level work which is recognised or accredited by the relevant governmental agencies in their own country.
With our flexible transfer policy, ease of application, and generous scholarship opportunities, Richmond credit transfers may be awarded to both US and non-US transfer students.
We understand that not every student is in the same situation, if you have any questions about your qualifications, please get in touch with us [email protected]

Our modern campus building offers a range of seminar rooms and specialist facilities, such as high-spec computer labs, a two-storey library as well as a film and photography studio. You’ll find plenty of inspiring study spaces across the campus to work in, individually or in groups – or grab a bite at our Unity Cafe between your studies.
For our range of film, photography and graphics-based courses there is a dedicated Apple Mac lab with industry standard software, there are also dedicated edit suites and a sound recording facility.
Sustainability is a major focus at Chiswick Park through the design of the modern and energy-efficient buildings. Cycling is actively encouraged with the option to hire a bike for both short- and long-term hire. The building also offers numerous bike racks, a bike repair station and is completely secure with 24/7 security and CCTV.
There are excellent transportation connections with three underground stations in a 20-minute walk, fast links to Heathrow and into central London, providing easy access to everything the world’s number one student city in the world can offer – learning and employment opportunities, shops, museums, attractions and sporting and cultural events.
Student life
A wide range of student-run clubs and societies offer students fantastic opportunities to develop their skills and experience.
The Student Affairs team offers an extensive range of services to support students through all kinds of challenges, as well as helping students make the most of their time at university. Our personalised support is unique to each individual student and can also help signpost students to specialist services such as counselling if required.
From societies and clubs with a diverse range of missions and interests through to Student Government and other programmes, Richmond is home to a number of exciting leadership opportunities. The Richmond Leadership Academy is our programme for all students who want to build their employability and leadership experience. Students who successfully complete each level of the Academy receive awards that demonstrate their ability to future employers.
The Academy supports you in four core areas:
• Personal skills
• Volunteer and work experience
• Workshop and seminar participation
• Campus leadership
We offer managed student accommodation through recommended providers, with advice for students on other accommodation options.
The University Careers & Internships team offers personal development seminars, leadership opportunities and access to work experience, volunteering and internships. There is also a dedicated, personalised service for assistance with CV writing, interview preparation tips and much more. Throughout your studies, you will have the opportunity to build links with industry experts and Richmond alumni, connecting you to a vast and influential worldwide network. Throughout the year, the careers team in Student Affairs coordinate workshops for both undergraduate and postgraduate students to support employability and get set for your future. These range from building skills to helping understand opportunities for future study or seeking a graduate visa.
Internships
Every degree student has the opportunity to complete an accredited internship as part of their programme. Richmond internships are supervised, career-related work experiences, combined with reflective academic study that help students apply theoretical knowledge in the workplace. Students can also develop contacts which may prove valuable in creating future employment opportunities, and gain confidence in their capabilities and their employability.
Study abroad
We offer students the opportunity to study abroad with our partners in New York, Shanghai, Melbourne, Wellington, Athens, Brussels, Paris, Florida, Buenos Aires, Seoul, Madrid and many more places around the world. Students are able to study for a summer, a semester or a full year abroad and then transfer their credits back to Richmond to complete their degree, all without the need to pay for expensive international fees or adding extra time to their programme. This gives students an exciting international experience to help them seek employment after graduation. Please refer to richmond.ac.uk for a full list of our international partners.
Peer mentoring
Every year a group of committed and involved students become peer mentors, working closely with the faculty and helping to guide first year seminars. The scheme benefits both parties; the new students are able to talk to someone who knows what they are going through, and the mentors improve their personal and communication skills while enhancing their CV.
Peer tutoring
We also like to encourage peer tutoring. Students who have excelled in a subject and have received a recommendation from a professor are able to tutor other students. The peer tutoring service is free for students.
