The double degree in human services and business will prepare students for work with organisations that provide public, non-government and private services such as child and family, disability support and health services. In the business component, students may choose a major in accountancy, advertising, economics, finance, financial planning, human resource management, international business, management, marketing or public relations. This course has a strong focus on contemporary social issues. Students will develop skills in casework and case management, social policy processes, group and team practice skills, advanced communication, community work, and understanding families and relationships. Students will complete over 500 hours of human services placement during this course, meaning they will gain the hands-on experience needed to build a successful career.

Before you start this course, we assume you have sound knowledge of the subject/s listed below. If you don't have the subject knowledge, you can still apply for the course but we strongly encourage you to undertake bridging studies to gain the knowledge:

  • English, or Literature, or English and Literature Extension, or English as an Additional Language (Units 3 & 4, C)
  • And for Accounting, Finance, Economics and Marketing majors: General Mathematics, or Mathematical Methods, or Specialist Mathematics (Units 3 & 4, C).
