The Electrical Engineering Program aims to respond to the high demand in the Middle East for engineers to develop innovative approaches to solving engineering problems. Investigations and surveys of human resources needs in Saudi Arabia have indicated a high need for highly qualified electrical engineers. The economy is growing, especially in the electrical engineering area, where a lot of money and effort are being invested. EE has aligned with Saudi Vision 2030 by training and educating students to develop the electrical power infrastructure, especially in the transmission and distribution networks, and a renewable energy market. The program will teach the fundamentals of these aspects along with what is needed in the market. The EE program is conceived with industry partners, ensures world-class facilities, and provides knowledge and technical expertise in the latest research areas like Smart Grid, Power Electronics, Electric Vehicles, etc.

A general Saudi secondary school (high school) certificate in natural, social or administrative sciences or equivalents or a high school diploma earned outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia approved by the Ministry of Education in Riyadh secondary certificate or high school diploma awarded within the past five years; Passing the University entrance exam; Be a full-time student (part-time enrolment is not permitted); Have a record of good conduct; If a public or private sector employee, applicant present a written approval to study from the workplace; Satisfy other conditions stipulated by the board of PSU and announced at the time of application; Pass the medical check-up; and Submit academic aptitude scores based on the Qiyas or SAT I exam scores and take the PSU Entrance Exam.

PSU offers 17  undergraduate programmes and across their programmes have an average 14:1 student to faculty ratio. Their students can choose a personalised curriculum of theoretical study and experiential learning, taught by an internationally-recognised faculty. 

Bachelor’s candidates can apply online via their application portal, including uploading clear copies of the necessary accompanying documents and paying the application fee. There is an English language test requirement, or an Intensive English Course for an additional semester before the preparatory year.
Tuition fees are paid in two instalments per year at the beginning of each semester.
