The telecommunications meet the society needs to exchange and have access to video, data and voice information with disregard of the distance, in the shortest time and without being altered. Nowadays, business activity and interactivity of the existing applications, as information exchange systems, social networks, blogs, among others, require a solid infrastructure in continuous operation.
As a telecommunications engineer you will be in charge of planning, designing and maintaining this infrastructure operating. In addition, you will build and configure software, determining operating times and costs to ensure an efficient, secure and effective service.

The current telecommunication systems are formed by optical communication networks, wireless networks of different technologies  (WiFi, WiMax, etc.), satellites, cellular phones (GSM, LTE, etc.), microwaves, radio and television broadcast, telemedicine, telecontrol and other emerging ones. All these networks are operated by a telecommunications engineer like you; therefore, your imagination will determine the development of future networks and their applications.

Your professors will be specialists holding master and doctoral degrees. This major will enable you to connect and know the world, ensuring 100% labor insertion since telecommunication sector is considered the second most important private investment in the country after the mining sector.
