Nestled right in the center of Osh city, Osh State University was founded in 1939 with a mission to educate the population and enhance their lives. Osh State University is a research type classic university, maintains and develops spiritual values of humanity and honorably fulfills its historic mission of training intellectual elite of the Nation. Today, Osh State University is the Nation's Greatest public university with 18 departments, 6 colleges and total enrollment of 32399 undergraduate including 14000+ international students. Having a three level education, Osh State University offers a wide range of high quality preuniversity, undergraduate and graduate/postgraduate programs in Arts and Humanities, Business and Management, Engineering and Medicine, Theology, Natural and Social sciences. With almost a centennial history, Osh State University is considered a center of  education, science and culture of Central Asia.

Since 2017, the University successfully implements the strategy of developing academic mobility according to 10+10+10+10 (i.e., 10%  academic mobility of invited teaching and student staff) scheme and actively cooperates with 170+ universities from 41 countries of the world.
