The B.A. (Hons.) Environmental Studies programme at Jindal School of Environment & Sustainability (JSES) opens the pathway for working in international and national arenas in the challenging and exciting discipline of Environmental Studies. Environmental Studies has gained prominence in the present day and is set to become more and more sought after in the coming days. This is because a large number of businesses, governments, inter-governmental bodies and organisations in India and across the world are seeking ways to become more sustainable, energy efficient and climate-appropriate, and need experts in this area.
The multidisciplinary nature of environmental studies will allow you to gain knowledge of a number of key areas that play a role in environmental protection and sustainable development. These include sustainable management of natural resources, environmental sciences, policy, law and the social sciences. Students pursuing this degree programme will receive interdisciplinary education and will learn how to understand and connect perspectives from several key disciplines. They will, thus, become equipped with the skills needed to address the challenges of environmental protection and sustainable development, whether in the policy, law, science or conservation fields.
The B.A. (Hons.) Environmental Studies undergraduate programme will help you gain a thorough grounding of the subject area. You will be empowered to make a difference for the present as well as future generations, helping protect our common environment and shaping our collective futures. You will be able to bring about change in policy-making, management and governance that is directed towards balancing environmental, economic and social concerns, and sustainable development.
