The Distributed Information Systems and Applications profile examines the priority areas of development of information and communication technologies and communications, including embedded software applications, mobile applications, the transition to software-configurable infrastructures, such as: PaaS (Platform as a Service); IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service); SaaS (Software as a Service); network security and its planning, methods and means of information protection in modern information and telecommunication networks. The key elements in this case are technologies for virtualizing network resources and functions. Free distributed software is widely used in these technologies.
