The dissertation compiled by the students is an original research work and aiming to make significant contributions to the field. The research course in the Doctoral Program in Astronomy starts from the qualification exam stage aimed at evaluating the mastery of knowledge and the student ability to formulate a detailed and structured research plan. After passing the qualification exam, students will be granted doctoral candidate status, conduct research under the guidance of the promotor and co-promotor, and periodically evaluated in the form of seminars and research progress reports. At the end of the phase, doctoral candidate students are required to publish their scientific work in a reputable journal and attend a doctoral session to defend their dissertation. With their expertise, graduates of the Doctoral Program in Astronomy have broad job prospects, including career as lecturers at universities and becoming researchers at research institutes. In addition, they also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of astronomical science through publications and research collaborations. Read less
