The Department of Sociology offers graduate training leading to the Doctor of Philosophy degree. Students may petition for a Master of Arts degree once they fulfill the requirement. Sociology of Age and the Life Course, Medical Sociology, Social Inequality and Research Methods are the major areas of emphasis in the department.
