The Applied Science Private University (ASU) is located in Amman, the capital city of Jordan. Founded in 1989, ASU was the first private institution in Jordan.
The university campus is at the heart of Amman city, in Shafa Badran area which can be easily reached by public transport or the university’s transportation network.
The campus is situated on a hilltop with clean air, where there is less traffic and air pollution. The university campus hosts 9 academic faculties in a fully integrated compound built on 356000 sqm (88 acres) land lot, supported by an in-house medical centre, indoor and outdoor sports facilities.
ASU is a multicultural university, with students hailing from 56 countries across the globe. ASU is best known for the quality and up-to-date programmes of study supported by faculties that are equipped with laboratories and facilities to meet student and employer needs.
ASU offers a wide spectrum of academic programmes including (but not limited to) the following subjects: Pharmacy , Nursing , Engineering & Technology , Architecture , Law , Business , Arts & Science , Information Technology , Art & Design and Sharia & Islamic Studies .
Although Arabic is the official language of Jordan, the majority of courses at ASU are taught in English, expect for the courses that major in Arabic and Religious studies.

University information
The admission criterion for bachelor’s programmes is a High School Certificate/Diploma or equivalent, with the average required varying from one programme to another.
For postgraduate programmes, the entry requirement is a bachelor’s degree with a good average standing.
ASU is committed to providing equal opportunities for local and international students; therefore, they pay the same fees and are also entitled to the same discounts.

ASU has one fully integrated and well-connected campus that houses the university’s nine faculties.
Apart from the academic faculties and lecture halls, ASU campus has an Olympic Stadium , which can host up to 5,000 spectators, it also has a pitch of Olympic standards and an athletic course of international standards. It also hosts ASU’s annual graduation ceremony and football tournament. Finally, it is available for the national clubs’ matches and the local community needs.
Other outstanding facilities on the campus include two fully equipped fitness gyms , one for males and one for females, indoor basketball and handball courts, outdoor general-purpose sports and training courts, 500 sqm mosque, medical services , library and resources centre, variety of restaurants and cafés, Auditorium, bookshop , postal and banking services and entertainment centre.
Students are supported by a semi-comprehensive health facility on campus, including health insurance , and there’s an international student’s office to support students with visa applications.
Student life
More than 20 percent of ASU students are international students from over 56 nationalities worldwide.
Students have wide range of extracurricular activities to choose from through the clubs and societies available at the Deanship of Students’ Affairs. Participation in community services, conferences and extracurricular activities are part of the ASU graduation requirements.
The ASU dormitory is off campus, but just across the street from the university’s main entrance. The dorm is a brand-new facility supported with all necessary amenities and security.
On average 25-30 percent of ASU graduates find jobs or start their own businesses within six months of graduation.
ASU provides integrated employment services through its large alumni and partner networks to all students. ASU offers training opportunities through dedicated in house and online career advisors with the aim to improve the students’ communication, CV writing, and interview skills.
