The Optometry program is unique in that it is the first and only program at the level of private universities in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the department was created as one of the departments of the College of Allied Medical Sciences in 2015. The department awards a bachelor’s degree in optometry upon the successful completion of (132) credit hours distributed over four academic years. The Department of Optometry was established to provide the opportunity for its graduates to work in optical centers, ophthalmology centers and optometry centers, in addition to eye clinics in hospitals. Students who passed high school requirements (scientific stream), with a general average of at least 70%, can admit. Also, students with any health sciences diploma can be admitted according to the regulations of the university.
