"Computer engineering" faculty was established on the basis of the President resolution of the Republic of Uzbekistan # PR-1942 "On measures on further improvement of training information and communication technology personnel system" on March 26, 2013 at the Department of "Information Technology". Currently the faculty employs over 90 professors and teachers. The faculty focuses on educating the following spheres of bachelor degree, namely: 60610500- Computer Engineering (" Computer engineering "," IT-Service", "Multimedia technologies"), 60610700-“Artificial intelligence”, 60711500-“Mechatronics and robotics”,  60611400-“ Postal communication technology” and following Master programs, namely 70610501 – Computer Engineering ("Computer Systems Design" "Designing application software", "Information and multimedia technologies"), 70610502– “Management of e-government system” 70610205- “Geoinformation systems and technologies”, 70610504-“Data Science”, 70610503-“Computer systems in medicine”,  70611702-“Intellectual information-communication systems”, 70610701-“Artificial intelligence”, 70610505-“Internet of Things”, 70611401-“ Organization and technology of the postal service"
In the 2023/2024 academic year, 1,602 students are studying at the faculty in all educational areas of the full-time form, about 130 graduate students are studying in the above specialties and conducting scientific research.

TUIT offers 21 undergraduate degrees in a wide range of disciplines in information technologies (IT), from computer engineering to Economics in IT. Students can also study joint programs such as Information technologies and programming. 

Undergraduate degrees are usually four years in length and are taught inside the individual faculty to which students apply.

The admissions rate for TUIT is 15 percent which seems in high comparison with other universities in the country.

The application period runs during the summer for the following academic year. Applicants register to take a test and will know whether they have been successful by the end of the summer.

Terms at TUIT are actually shorter than at other Uzbekistan higher education institutions, and their total duration is generally equal to fifteen weeks.
