In order to achieve the university’s vision to develop programs that meet the needs of the labor market within modern teaching methods, and in line with the vision of the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences to develop unique programs of a world-class level in the applied medical professions, the Bachelor’s Program in Physical Therapy has been developed to join the unique group of programs offered by the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences at Al-Ahliyya Amman University. The program aims to graduate qualified cadres within a study plan that meets the developments in the field of physical therapy and an infrastructure that provides the student with the latest electronic and contemporary methods of teaching and learning, and application within laboratories with international standards and the latest equipment so that the graduate can compete in the labor market at the local and regional levels. The program grants a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy with 134 credit hours, which develops the skills of creative thinking, scientific research, communication skills and leadership among the student, in addition to providing a world-class research infrastructure to carry out applied scientific research in the field of physical therapy, which contributes to serving the community and medical sector in this field.

Al Ahliyya Amman University was the first private university in Jordan. It was founded by Dr Ahmad Mufleh Al-Hourani in 1990. He noticed that some students could not enrol in public universities due to their grades, so he set out to establish a private university that would welcome them.


When the university first opened it had three faculties, namely the faculty of administrative and financial sciences, the faculty of arts and sciences, and the faculty of law. Today it boasts eight faculties, including 29 bachelor programsIt is also home to a Business School and a Scientific Research Institute.

The Faculty of Research and Graduate Studies was founded to administer and organize graduate studies and scientific research at university, established a strategy according to the Faculty visions, goals and values by suitable using of financial and human resources.
According to the importance of scientific research and the major rule in the development of Current and future Plans, and knowledge.

The Faculty cooperated with a scientific and academic institutions in many fields to improve scientific research and create a suitable environment for the researchers giving them all the facilities, encouraging innovation, activating the intellectual property system.


In addition, the Faculty has developed Al-Balqa journal to publish the scientific researches after presenting them to the arbitrators and accepting publication in the journal's issues to build data with scientific experiences to transfer knowledge and technology. In the field of graduate studies, the Faculty supervised the admission of Students at the university for the master programs which are accredited by the National accrediting authority and seeks to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the master programs offered by faculties and upgrade them on a continuous basis in line with the revolution of information and the needs of the Jordanian and regional labour market.

The Faculty works to create regulatory instructions that lead to an educational system that ensures the appropriate atmosphere for students to be creative, providing them with the means of science and knowledge that enrich their experiences and stimulate their creativity, works in cooperation with the deans of faculties to guide the students to achieve their goals and obtain a master degree.
