The Elementary Education program offers students the option of track: Elementary Education ? Lifelong Learning track (non-certification). The Lifelong Learning (LLL) track is appropriate for students seeking opportunities for employment outside formal, K-12 schools that do not require certification. The Lifelong Learning (LLL) tracks prepare students for employment in a variety of informal educational settings where requirements such as content knowledge, an understanding of how children and adults learn, and strong interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with the added proficiency in areas such as marketing, management, event planning, and cognitive, physical and emotional development are needed. These program tracks provide a unique opportunity to develop essential knowledge and skills not only in specific content areas but also in one or more specializations through experiential learning or internship experiences with our many partner organizations. The development of multiple skill sets combined with experiential learning and internship experiences strongly prepares graduates for employment in professional educational roles working with the general public. The B.S. Lifelong Learning (LLL) track is available in Elementary Education and Secondary education The B.S. LLL tracks are specifically focused on students who wish to use their content knowledge (in subjects such as art, social science, science, English language arts, mathematics, or world languages) to pursue educational careers outside of traditional schools. The B.S. LLL tracks prepare graduates for employment in a broad spectrum of professional opportunities including museums, science centers, theaters, zoos, theme parks, youth camps, and business and industry settings. The B.S. LLL tracks promote active citizenship, personal development, and career preparation.
