- Identify the psycho-socio-cultural influences on human behaviour as a basis on which to improve education related to health, self-care and the management of personnel and work processes.

- Design and implement innovative models for the prevention and management of priority health issues related to the community, chronic diseases and the family.

- Analyse the evolution of and changes to health services in order to devise plans, programmes and projects for the organisation and development of the health system/health services in relation to the nursing and midwifery area of competence.

- Manage the nursing and midwifery services in health and social care organisations.

- Design and implement practical solutions to organisational problems and organisational models for nursing and midwifery services.-

Plan, manage and assess care services with a view to quality improvement (planning, organisation, management and control).

- Plan complex health and social care interventions in areas with a high epidemiological value or a significant impact on the population.

- Evaluate the methods and tools used in nursing and midwifery research and understand how to apply the research results in the nursing and midwifery care given.- Use scientific evidence applying it to the decision-making process and the organisation of nursing and midwifery care.

- Critically evaluate the knowledge acquired in the biomedical science and humanities areas in order to apply it to the organisation of nursing and midwifery care and the training of professionals.

- Supplement advanced scientific and methodological knowledge of nursing and midwifery with educational and managerial knowledge in order to respond to the health needs of the population and promote innovative care models.

- Design, implement and evaluate specific teaching activities at the various levels of the programme and devise health education measures aimed at groups and individuals.

- Promote professional development through gaining an understanding of nursing and midwifery theories and models and of professional organisation.

- Appraise the skills of personnel in order to increase their potential, including through the use of strategies to encourage multi-professional and organisational integration processes.

- Manage complex situations that require up-to-date theoretical references in the field of law, legal medicine, economic sciences and health legislation.

- Analyse the ethical aspects related to care and research. - Adopt professional and organisation behaviour consistent with the ethical and legal dimensions and the code of conduct of healthcare. The first year of the programme pursues objectives focusing on the development of clinical, care and teaching skills. The second year mainly focuses on research, organisational and managerial skills. Specialist internships are performed in both years of the programme. The degree programme includes a number of elective course units.
