The Business Administration (General Business) major is designed for students who have a keen interest in learning the skills necessary to succeed in business. It also permits the student with unique career objectives to select courses aimed at meeting this specific need. The major has a progressive and relative course design that enables students to learn the major areas within an organization and create a broad search for career opportunities upon graduation. Classes such as accounting, statistics, management, marketing, and finance, among others, will prepare students for the essential areas within business. So no matter what industry a student may be interested in upon graduation, a degree in general business will have prepared him or her for the next step. Career Opportunities: The general business program at JU provides the basic foundations for entry-level management positions in a broad range of industries. Jacksonville University business graduates have gone on to successful careers in a variety of areas, both in the public and private sector domains. A number of key executives and upper-management positions are now being performed by Davis College of Business graduates. Some of their employers include Merrill Lynch-Financial Data Services, CSX, Florida Blue, Georgia Pacific Corporation, LPS, Prudential Insurance Company of America, The State Farm Companies Foundation, and United Parcel Service. This degree is also a good preparation for an MBA program or other advanced study in business.​
