Why, you may ask? Because geese are everywhere! And let me tell you, they are not afraid to run you down.

3. Diversity is prevalent.

Even if Canada is mainly Caucasian, the University of Waterloo is hugely diverse, with a large Asian population.

4. There are lots of secret tunnels!

5. We are not a party school.

I’m afraid to say, we take school pretty seriously.

6. There is a student Facebook group/page for everything.

If you don't have a Facebook account, you should get one now.

7. Waterloo is a student town.

Everything pretty much revolves around us! Furthermore, Wilfred Laurier University is just down the street, so this really is a student town.

8. You really don't need a car to get around.

Bus fare is free, and they run frequently.

9. Shoetags will keep you sane.

Shoetags are basically passes to fitness classes that are mega stress-relievers and physical massages all in one. Ranging from power yoga to zumba to warrior workout, these will set you up to power through those groggy 8am classes.

10. There are lots of ways to jump-start your career.

From major co-op programs, student design teams or contests held by the Velocity entrepreneurship program, UWaterloo is a career-focused institution, so you better be ready to suit up and shoot out your business card, ideas or individuality.
