MSc in Accounting, Financial Management and Control

This program prepares students to become Chief Financial Officers (CFOs), teaching them to analyze problems and make managerial decisions from a plurality of perspectives. The same set of knowledge and skills can also be applied at auditing and consulting firms and financial institutions. CFOs play a diverse set of roles within all firms: they ensure compliance with financial regulations, prepare financial statements and communicate value and risk information to investors and boards; they provide financial leadership and align business and financial strategy to expand the business, make investments and oversee capital structure; and they develop and implement internal and management control systems designed to protect company assets. The MSc integrates technical knowledge of financial reporting, financial and risk management, and performance measurement with the ability to read the business world and interpret its evolutionary trends. The program’s teaching methods include: lectures, class discussion and press analysis to understand management models, algorithms and methodologies; case studies and guest speakers to understand organizational complexity; and simulations to improve data analysis, interpretation and decision-making.
