There are two new entrants in the top 10 of this year’s mechanical engineering ranking, both of which are based in continental Europe. Politecnico di Milano has climbed 10 places to seventh, while the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands has improved by nine places to now rank fourth. The three institutions above it are unchanged from last year: Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Stanford University and University of Cambridge.
The QS World University Rankings by Subject are based upon academic reputation, employer reputation and research impact (click here to read the full methodology).
