This year, for the first time ever, we’re publishing separate ranking tables for some of the top study destinations around the world. The University of Tokyo earns the distinction of being ranked the best university in Japan in this first-ever table, with Kyoto University in second place.

These two universities are also the two in Japan with the highest scores for academic reputation and employer reputation, two of the metrics used to compile this year’s ranking. More information about the methodology that’s been used can be found here.
