Stanford University enjoys the honor of being both the best in the US and the best in the world this year, rising three places since last year. It achieved a perfect score for the entrepreneurship & alumni outcomes indicator, a metric which is particularly significant given the growing demand from students for MBA programs to incorporate entrepreneurial elements.

Last year’s number one, Harvard University, has to settle for being ranked second in both the world and the US. Despite falling one place, it’s the only institution to achieve a perfect score for employability, a metric which measures employers’ perceptions of each university or business school. While tuition for the top MBA programs in the United States is significantly higher than schools elsewhere in the world (average cost is US$87,094), the impact an MBA from the US can have on your earnings is worth noting. The average MBA student sees their salary climb by 72 percent from $53,000 to $91,381. Data collected from US programs also found that they are longer, on average, than their counterparts around the world. While the global average program duration is just 18 months, a typical US MBA will take 21 months to complete.
