Coming Soon: QS World University Rankings 2021 main image

The world’s top 1,000 universities will be revealed when the QS World University Rankings 2021 are published on Wednesday June 10.

This will be the 17th edition of the QS World University Rankings, and in that time it has become the world’s most-consulted, most-covered source of information about university performance.

As with previous years’ results, universities from around the world have been assessed according to six different criteria: academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty to student ratio, citations per faculty, ratio of international faculty members and ratio of international students. To learn more ahead of our launch, consult the rankings methodology.

While the ranking features only the world’s top 1,000 institutions, a whopping 5,546 have been evaluated and considered for inclusion. To give some sense of the scale of the data analysed in this process, over 100,000 unique responses to the QS academic reputation survey and over 50,000 unique responses to the QS employer reputation survey were considered.

Who will come out on top?

Last year, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) made it eight consecutive years at the top of the QS World University Rankings. Will it be able to make it nine in a row? There’s only one way to find out: check back on June 10 and discover the QS World University Rankings 2021 in full.
