Yanshan University

Based in Qinhuangdao, Hebei, China, Yanshan University has existed for nearly 100 years and occupies a whopping 820 acres. Having started as a technology institute, its education now covers four different schools of engineering: Electrical Engineering, Information Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Materials Science and Engineering. Approximately 39,000 students are taught across these four schools, by a faculty and staff that numbers around 3,000.

Qinhuangdao City, where the campus is located, is based 260km northeast of the capital city Beijing on the coast. A popular tourist destination with Chinese people, the city is where the Great Wall of China starts and is also home to a safari zoo and the summer resort Beidaihe Beach.

Yanshan University prides itself on being a particularly outward-facing university, with international connections around the world. Students at Yanshan have historically conducted joint research and study programs with institutions in the UK, US, Canada, Norway, Germany, France, Italy and Ireland, as well as Japan, South Korea and other Asian countries.
