History
The Universidad Internacional de Valencia - VIU is a Higher Education institution in Spain with more than 23,600 students from 84 different countries. Focused mainly in Spain and Latin America, the Universidad Internacional de Valencia - VIU is one of the leading online universities in the Spanish-speaking countries and communities. Our four faculties and the graduate school (Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Arts and Humanities and Communications, Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, Faculty of Education Sciences, and Higher School of Engineering, Science and Technology) offers titles fully aligned with the job market and the specific needs of each sector, optimizing the employability of its students.
Founded in 2008 as a Native Digital University. VIU was created with a deep respect for higher education and a firm commitment to technological innovation, understood as the means to facilitate access to this education for a large portion of the population, who did not find in the face-to-face system the opportunity they needed to achieve their goals.
In 2013, the Universidad Internacional de Valencia – VIU, became part of Planeta Formación y Universidades, the international higher education network of Grupo Planeta, made up of twenty-two educational institutions in Spain, Andorra, France, Italy, North Africa, the United States and Colombia; and which has more than 100,000 students, from 114 nationalities. As part of Planeta Formación y Universidades Group, VIU represents an example of synergies between university, businesses and public institutions in favor of social progress.
Programs, methodology and faculty
At the International University of Valencia, students learn with live, interactive online classes that are recorded and can be viewed 24/7. This, combined with a constant accompaniment system and a virtual campus with multi-device access, allow students to live an international university experience wherever and whenever they want.
VIU offer its students degrees and master's degrees totally aligned with the job market and social reality.
